Court date set for man charged in firefighter's death

Officers with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office arrested Mark Eugene Pruitt, 47, on Friday in the death of Jason Adams, 29. Authorities said Adams, a firefighter with the East Pulaski Volunteer Fire Department, went to Pruitt’s home outside North Little Rock at about 5 a.m. Friday after Pruitt’s wife, Tonja Pruitt, reported that her husband was having a seizure.

Planned Parenthood and three female patients sued the state after the Republican governor said in August he was ending the state’s contract with the organization. U.S. District Judge Kristine Baker issued a preliminary injunction Oct. 2 requiring the state to provide Medicaid funding for services for the three named plaintiffs, prompting Planned Parenthood to seek to expand the suit to include all of its present and future Medicaid patients in the state.

Milligan signed a settlement agreement Wednesday to resolve a complaint filed with the state Ethics Commission by Little Rock lawyer Matt Campbell. The settlement agreement states that the commission found probable cause for findings that Milligan failed to report certain contributions, expenditures and disposals of assets from his 2014 campaign for office in a timely manner.

Lacy was sentenced to death after he was found guilty of capital murder and aggravated robbery in the 2007 slaying of Randall Walker, who family members said was suffering from symptoms of multiple sclerosis.

Jimmy Hickey of Texarkana to require its members to wear "business casual" clothing at its meets. Hickey's proposal didn't define business casual, but said it wouldn't include jeans, T-shirts, sweatpants or sweatshirts.
