In a 5-1 decision, a six-judge panel of the appellate court ordered a new trial for Ramon Perez, who was convicted in Lonoke County Circuit Court of three counts of rape, one count of aggravated assault on a family or household member and one count of second-degree sexual assault and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
